So, imagine this: your ex has finally closed the chapter of her life that you were apart of. No more agonizing days and Instagram lurking nights, just busy body mornings and party girl evenings. Now imagine yourself, a young adult male, who revels in the power you used to have over your ex, receiving a call from a friend detailing the ways in which she has reclaimed her freedom and sexuality, and rebuked whatever connection y'all had. THE HOTLINE PROJECT audially displays the, partly emotional but mostly misogynistic, melt down that follows that phone call and all the ways you're "down and stressed out" about your ex, who's ecstatically "wearing less and going out more".
